By Rob Out, project manager and senior adviser on international police cooperation on PVE and CVE at National Police Netherlands.
Started on Monday in Skopje (North Macedonia). Venue was the Police Academy and participants were from various backgrounds. Lots of questions and good discussions. They specifically wanted to have more information about the Safety House, our plans for Returning Minors and the Multi Agency Vulnerability Assessement Support Tool (MAVAST) from the PERICLES project (www.project-pericles.eu) developed by TNO from The Netherlands. Next stop Podgorica (Montenegro). We started with the farewell reception of the Dutch Ambassador for Serbia and Montenegro, mr. Henk van den Dool. Next day the workshop with the State Secretary (and National CVE coordinator) mr. Pejanovic as one of the participants. Despite the challenging conditions (airco broke down) a very good workshop. Mr. Pejanovic expressed the wish for a follow up meeting. The same day by car through the beautiful scenery to Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina – BiH). In the office of the EU special representative of BiH we had a very productive workshop. Several topics will have a follow up. Summarising: a fruitful and productive Western Balkans road trip with lots of deliverables/follow ups.
