See our first ‘PERICLES Experts Talk’ exchange below. PERICLES Experts Talk is a series of short exchanges where experts working on the PERICLES project talk about their area of expertise. They discuss why certain areas are important for the PERICLES project as well as the issue of radicalization in general. First we have Prof Gillian Wylie.
Prof Gillian Wylie is originally from Scotland – where she did her studies in Politics and International Relations at the University of Aberdeen. In 2001 Gillian became a full time lecturer on the MPhil in Peace Studies at the Irish School of Ecumenics. As well as teaching on the MPhil in International Peace Studies, Gillian co-ordinates the ISE’s PG Diploma in Conflict and Dispute Resolution Studies and supervises a large number of Masters and Doctoral students – particularly in the field of gender, conflict and peace. Gillian’s research specialism lies in human trafficking, the politics of international migration, globalisation and gender issues. Gillian is the gender adviser on the PERICLES project.
