Counter-terrorism training in Australia

In October 2018 three counter-terrorism specialists from the National Police of the Netherlands visited Australia to deliver the SEPPRa training on detecting radicalisation. SEPPRa (Sensitising Professionals on the Prevention of Radicalisation) is a Train-the-Trainer program that has been composed within the Netherlands Police, and over the past two years has been delivered to over 34,000 frontline police officers in the Netherlands. The National Police of the Netherlands are a PERICLES consortium partner and their PERICLES representative, Mr Rob Out, as well as Ms Sultan Tasdelen, have been training frontline professionals all over Australia. After the training participants received all training materials in order to provide training within their own organisations in order to create as much awareness as possible of the early signs of radicalisation. The National Police of the Netherlands has a valued and close working relationship with the Australian federal Police.
